OK... Some of my "illustrative" folk got on my tail the other night about not posting enough... they're right. I actually have been starting a new project, which I call my "once - a - week". I paint on small rectangular metal sheets, and soon they are going to create a massive collection once I can align them all up together in a giant grid. It's gonna be hella cool. Here is #01. He is called "Spike".

I have learned a lot about myself, both spiritually and as an artist. I enjoy the act of reporting and exploring a subject through drawing and writing. I also learned that in a way, this experience has humbled me. As a young adult growing up in our modern world, I am so used to seeing imagery of death and gore in the media. Now, after being through this experience of seeing the process on both the technical and traditional levels, it’s almost like I have a new feeling of respect… for death and for life.
This book is just a catalyst and the beginning of what I think is a very interesting conversation. I’m sure I’ll continue to struggle with these concepts, and of course I can’t wait to keep learning more about this subject matter.
